Project
Record

Twenty-four years of work inside the Gujarat public health system: civil and general hospitals, state hospitals, community health centres, and the equipment supplied to them under the ORET programme.

The ORET Project

ORET equipment reached Gujarat's public hospitals through a Netherlands government development-linked export programme. Analysers, ventilators, monitors, imaging and neonatal equipment were distributed across the state's district health facilities, including community health centres that had never held equipment of that class before, and in many cases had no engineer within a hundred kilometres who had seen it.

Mediscan Equipment was appointed on tender for the servicing and maintenance of that equipment, and has been fulfilling that duty since.

Scope of Work

Equipment distributed across a state, in institutions with no biomedical department, no service history and frequently no manual. The task was not the repairs. It was reaching them, finding the equipment, establishing what condition it was in, sourcing parts for models with no Indian service channel, and building a maintenance record where none existed.

That is where the geographic spread on our client list comes from. Mandvi in Kutch, Khedbrahma in the north, Ahwa in the Dangs, Rajula and Savarkundla in Amreli, those are not sales territories. They are places we were required to reach, and did.

NHM Requirements

NHM equipment reporting is about records rather than repairs: a maintenance schedule, evidence it was followed, calibration in date, and a traceable history per machine. Our documentation is built to be produced at that inspection, and it is issued visit by visit rather than assembled retrospectively.
