Hospital furniture

Beds, trolleys and cabinets are the equipment a hospital buys on price and then lives with for fifteen years. What separates a bed that lasts from one that does not is the gauge of the tube, the quality of the weld at the platform, and whether the castors were ever meant to carry a loaded bed. We supply, repair and refinish hospital furniture across India.

Department FAQ

Questions we get about hospital furniture

Not answered here? Call +91 98250 70790 and speak to someone who works on the equipment.

01

Is it worth repairing old hospital beds or should we replace them?

Repair is usually the better value where the frame and platform welds are sound. Castors, crank mechanisms, actuators, side rail latches and panels are all replaceable, and refinishing a sound frame costs a fraction of a new bed. Replacement is the right call once the platform welds have failed or the frame has corroded through, and we tell you which you have after looking at them.

02

What is the difference between a Fowler and a semi-Fowler bed?

A full Fowler bed adjusts both the backrest and the knee section, giving a fully adjustable platform. A semi-Fowler adjusts the backrest only. Both are available manual, with one or two cranks, or motorised. Semi-Fowler suits general wards; full Fowler suits post-operative and higher-dependency areas.

03

Do you make furniture to a tender specification?

Yes. Government and institutional tenders specify frame section, sheet gauge, platform type, finish, castor size and load rating, and we quote and supply against the written specification. Sample approval before bulk supply is normal and we work that way.

04

Do you deliver and install, or is it supply only?

Delivered, assembled and placed. Bulk ward supply is coordinated with the hospital so old furniture goes out as new furniture comes in, rather than a ward carrying both for a week.
